While the i4Siri team is hard at work on a LEGAL way to get Siri on 5.1.1 devices, we have found that a majority of our users have come across a GUI by illegitimate means. Regardless of the method of obtaining a GUI we want to still support our users, therefore we have provided a package for these users on our official cydia repo. We by no means support these illegitimate methods due to the violation of copyright to both Apple and several jailbreak developers like chpwn. Please be aware of malicious or even illegal software.

I can’t get the weather thing to work. It says that siri can’t find the forecast for this location.
You guys need something like spite spire installer for ios 5.1 (NOT RECOMMENDED UNLESS YOU WANT A TETHERED JAILBREAK AGAIN) or MySiri’s port another spire installer for iOS 5.1.1 (this is RECOMMENDED for those with an unthethered jailbreak). Then it will work. Just be warned is that if you use spite, it will never reboot until you just boot tethered in redsn0w. repo for recommended siri (spire) installer: http://apt.tekwik.com
Why do you recommend this in contrast with Siri port.ru original? Should I erase that one and use my siriport instead?
No don’t uninstall MySiri’s port because it will make your iDevice unbootable, you will need to restore your iDevice

Title clearly says it doesn’t need spire, but description says otherwise, a little confusion here. But to the point. If it’s non spire, will it work with SiriPort.ru? Their service is rather bloated…

After adding it, search for “Siriport (ORIGINAL)”
Note: 100MB it will take long time
So after installing it
Download that i4Siri Non-Spire then after that install the certificate from there then reboot then you are frkn DONE!!

Go to Settings -> i4siri and click on the top button. It’ll take you to the website, which automatically downloads it for you.
Your method almost worked perfectly…it answers “funny” requests such as “Tell me a story.” and basic questions such as math problems. However, when I ask for things such as the weather, it says “There was an error during the processing of your request.” And when I asked “Where is the closest Chinese restaurant?” it responded with “The Googlemaps response did not hold the information I need!” Is there anyway to fix this?
i keep having a problem with this siri proces you gave on this page this add code and everythign worked but when i got to my setting ans enable siri it wont stay enabled so i have to keep on enableling it but it wont work at all any suggestions?

Hey, this works flawlessly with Siriport. The only problem i’m having is that is says ”Sorry, i don’t understand ‘What do you look like”. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

This got Siri working definitely. However as someone else said, Siris unable to understand commands saying send a text message, or what’s the weather like. Although, you can use voice texting, which is a plus, As of right now siri is nothing more than a regular voice assistant, just cooler looking and faster.
I fixed the weather problem for this method. What worked for me is go into settings > location services > and turn Siri off and then on. Without leaving that screen, call Siri and the arrow by the word Siri should turn purple. Then ask the weather and it should work from now on. As for commanding her to send a text, it started working after a few minutes. Just gotta let Siri warm up. But now she won’t set my alarm >:(
Very fast activation unlike siriport.ru but does not have the cooler things siriport does. Can’t read text messages, locating nearby places is hard for her, and it’s easier to tell her to search the web by saying “search the web…” on the bright side, your guys Siri is funnier than the siriport one.

I think I uknow why many responses are I don’t understand that query.
I’m guessing that there are people at Apple working full-tim inserting phrases, answers, etc into their Siri servers. I imagine the guys that put this server together do not have those kinds of resources.

The server is currently experiencing problems (Wolfram Alpha, reminders, etc.). The creator will be fixing this so just wait until the issues are fixed.
If it doesent understand you try changing it to american english in the settings as this worked for me i think its a plug in problem

Btw… Those of you saying it won’t send txts and such, check out the i4siri features… It works you just have to say it a certain way… “send a message to Sarah” not “send Sarah a message”
Restored, jailbroke, reinstalled sirport (installed siriport cert.), reinstalled i4siri (installed i4siri cert.) and BAM !!! I’m back up and runnin… Sweetness, thanks again i4siri guys!!!

i have a question…if i am using the siriport.ru original along with i4siri do i need both the certificates for siriport.ru and i4siri installed or just the certificate for i4siri? i am confussed, any one here using siriport.ru with only the i4siri certificate or are most people using the siriport.ru with both certificates installed?
the i4siri version i am using is the i4siri for non spire….. do i need that and the one just titled i4seri, in other words do i need i4siri and i4siri for non spire or just one or the other currently i am using siriport.ru . i have tried the i4siri for non spire with the siriport.ru with the i4siri certificate installed and nothing would work, can anyone help?

It won’t work for me. I installed Siriport and this Non-Spire package, and the only thing that happens is the GUI comes up. I press the mic, say the command, and all that happens is the LED circles the mic but nothing else happens. No voice from siri, no text input from me, nothing. Unfortunate.
It would be nice if someone could answer these questions, especially if some of us want to donate. I’m experiencing the same problem of Siri not responding after saying a command or asking a question.

@BobbyD Go to Settings and scroll to i4Siri. From there you should see “Install Certificate”.
Thanks, but I was referring to the Siriport certificate, not the i4siri one. I tried both, but got it to work with the i4siri certificate. I guess you have to wait a little while (took me 2 hrs) before it activates.
This isn’t nearly as accurate as the real thing, but it’s pretty cool and the voice to text is great for driving. Well done.

Glad to see Siri working although it isn’t the same as on the 4S. But i still find it useful.
Hopefully the Devs can implement more uses for Siri like on the 4S AND at a reasonable price
I’m trying to install siri to an ipod 4g ios 5.1.1. I downloaded siriport and i4siri non spire to get the certificate. I can’t get Spire so the original i4siri wont even download. The little mic appeared and she asked how to help me, but always responded w/ (to paraphrase) sorry cant take any requests. I tried rebooting it and saying “hi siri” several times but it still wouldn’t work. Worse, I decided it was a good idea to delete repo.siriport.ru from my sources and re-add it, but now I can’t re-add repo.siriport.ru. What should I do?
I have had to disable Siri and renewable her after a reboot a couple times but she continues to work as i4siri describes… As for the certs… I use the newer siriport cert (there is a new and old one) and the i4siri cert (2 profiles installed)

Again you can’t say whatever you want like real Siri, it has to be said a certain way, refer to a google search “i4siri features” to see just what to say. For me to get Siri up and running I did the following:
Backed up tele (iTunes)
Erased all content (from tele menu)
Jailbroke (absinthe 2.0.4)
Installed siriport
Installed siriport cert
Installed i4siri
Installed i4siri cert
Reboot
And it worked…
There are several reboots throughout the process, I did not list them all. Pretty much if it installed something new I rebooted (not respring, reboot – hold power button, and home key until apple comes up…wait for entire boot)
The only thing that botched on me was I was unable to restore from backup, (iTunes) but that was because my hard drive is out of space

Hello people, Well im from mexico, i instaled Siri and works fine to me, i use siriport.ru and then instal i4siri non spire and download the cert and reboot. Done! But, its legal?
Ive tried and tried everything posted here and I still can’t get i4siri to find my location for weather and “what’s my location” commands. It works great for dictating applications but I can’t get it to locate me.

How to get it working onipad 2 running on ios 5.1.1
The only problem with S1ri is that if it does not work (have not tried it) and you want to uninstall it, your screwed. It says on the package “uninstalling this package renders your device unbootable.” I’m not taking that chance. So when S1ri can uninstall without screwing my device, I’ll do it.

Great instructions, did everything. (install siriport.ru install i4siri non spire installed certidicates, rebooted many times). But all I get is Siri listing and processing until it says sorry I cannot take any requests right now…. Try later

I have an iPhone 4 on 5.1.1.
When I add the siriport sources, first it says: sub process /bin/bzip2 returned an error code (2) then GPG error (with a ultrasnow address), then failed to fetch (ultrasnow error again)
I tried to install siriport anyway and it says bad gateway… cant intall anything.
Any ideas ?
Should I jailbreak with ultrasnow instead of redsnow ?

Ultrasn0w is just an Unlock process…
What i recommend is that you try these few steps
1) Reboot, (to refresh)
2) Try to restore, a fresh restore do NOT backup, and Jailbreak with Absinthe 2.0.4 (i believe)
