Many of our users have reported bugs lately for the servers, and I’m glad to say that we’ve fixed just about every one of them! There’s also a new address for the server. Make sure you have the ‘s’ in ‘https’. There is a new certificate as well. It can be downloaded at http://i4siri.com/installcertificate.html on your device. If you’re lazy and want to do a one-click-install you can add our repo at http://i4siri.com/repo and install the i4Siri package . In the upcoming days we hope to release a user panel to manage usage and whatnot. I’ll go into details as we get closer to that.

For a full how to click here

Oh, and I just wanted to say thanks to all of you guys that’ve stuck here with us through the tough times and since the beginning. It means a lot to all of us. Big things to come in the upcoming week. You’ll know first on twitter, then here on news.

Thanks everyone!

So @gardnervickers and I (@MrAjsTech) have been working hard to get i4Siri back up and running. Eric has locked us out of our account that controls the domain https://i4sirifree.mooo.com so therefore we need to reconfigure the dns. We also have to get our aws servers properly distributing the load of siri requests. We do have good news and that is that we hope to have everything 100% tuesday, April 10th. We are also preparing for our new system that will allow us to control api usage so one person will not use all api requests.

We will have a free and a “premium”. The reason for this is to 1. Pay for servers and API usage and 2. Allow for free users to use the paid api’s a certain amount of times a month. The premium simply will allow people to extend their usage if they actually use siri and people who just want siri to say they have siri have a great running server with little limitations.

We do deeply apologize for the downtime. I originally planned to have i4Siri always up but with the recent conflicts internally we have not achieved that goal. I would also like to make this point clear and professional: We have not used the donation money for personal benefits. There are rumors spreading that we are using i4Siri as money tunnel. We also want to make intentions clear that the macbook air purchased for former team member Eric Lewis was NOT a personal item but a business item and was supposed to be returned if anything went bad. We still intend to get this computer back. Anyways we want everyone to know that i4Siri is for the community first, profit second.

Hey everyone, Alex here and I wanted to update you all on what’s been going on lately.
First off, it saddens me to say but Eric has quit the team. (Hi Eric). The servers have been having issues for quite some time. The most obvious reason was the inability to get in contact with Eric Lewis who WAS managing the AWS account. After this fall out with Eric we have added a new member to the team. Gardner Vickers will be helping us with server management (along with Andrew Sheridan). As of right now the servers are online but we are expecting to have some downtime this week as we implement new features and implement our new system to allow checking of api usage and payment for extensive api usage. We are opening this payment plan so we can have a free with limited api requests per a month. (api’s = weather, yelp, and wolfram alpha)
Also, I’d like to start updating this site more to keep you guys up to date with everything that’s going on, so keep an eye out for that.
Gardner Vicker’s twitter is @gardnervickers. (as always) I recommend you give him a follow.

Thank you for all your support and I can tell you that we’re hard at work at working on premium. (It was largely requested). Details about that will be announced soon.
Thanks!

So lately i4Siri has been having some issues and that is due to the unexpected leave of Eric Lewis (lead server manger). We have been unable to get in contact with him. Eric is still with us as of right now. We need to get in touch with ASAP though. In the meantime I (Andrew Sheridan) have gone ahead and asked my friend Gardner Vickers (@gardnervickers) to join i4Siri. He is a skilled programmer and server manager so he should be able to help with i4Siri. Be sure to follow him as well as the entire i4Siri team.

In our first week of launch we have been able to capture 100′s of thousands of requests. We are able to take these requests and build a chatter bot plugin. We no longer will have to rely on pandorabot. We also are going to be working on getting the free and paid usage stats of API’s out soon.

So yesterday we saw the iPad 3 release and @musclenerd ‘s announcement that he already jail broke his. It has also been noted that the new iPad has siri dictation

So yesterday we saw the iPad 3 release and @musclenerd ‘s announcement that he already jail broke his. It has also been noted that the new iPad has siri dictation but no siri assistant aspect.

Yesterday I observed that the new iPad (3rd generation) uses the internet to interpret speech for dictation. Two ideas popped into my mind:

Apple has a dedicated diction server.

(or) The iPad contains keys for guzzoni.apple.com

Well I am here to tell you that the iPad does in fact connect to guzzoni.apple.com (apple siri server) and that it does use authentication like the 4S. This means potentially the iPad 3 could run Siri Assistant GUI and connect to Guzzoni.Apple.com by simply installing spire with https://guzzoni.apple.com address set.

i4Siri hopes to be able to provide this solution, if not @chpwn will update Spire for iPad officially.

Anyways I hope this is some exciting news for everyone.

DNS request to guzzoni.apple.com:

After two days of i4Siri public release being live, I wanted to address a few items. First off I want to say thank you for the massive support we get from this community! We really do appreciate all the support given towards the project.

So the first item to address would be the amount if issues people are having when installing the proxy url. Often times a typo is made with the ‘o’ in the url. Our proxy url is: https://i4sirifree.mooo.com/ As you can see there is 3 ‘o”s in the url. Also when installing the url make sure there is an https:// at the beginning and no space before it.

Those are some quick methods to fix the proxy url. We have also been working on releasing an i4Siri package. At the current time the package is finished and on the i4Siri repo. We are working with MacCiti to get i4Siri on their community source. This package includes auto install of the proxy url and a settings bundle to install the latest certificate. To read more on how-to do this go here.

As for features of i4Siri we have been working hard on getting these features completed. Eric and I have been working on reminders lately. We actually have part of it live on the free server. The only problem is that the reminder is not creating in the reminder app but it does understand what you are saying and creates a view for it. To read more about our features check here.

We have also enabled siri to understand french and german. Eric is going to be working with people to translate plugins to these languages.
