We are sad to announce the official shut down of all Siri services by i4Siri. We are doing this because there are plenty of others who are providing free siri servers and work just as well if not better than ours. We did not want to leave anyone hanging so we have given a guide to install Siriport.ru’s port. We have done this because there is not any money flowing and we did not want to create a paid service which goes against our principle of free siri server for all. I will say it was a fun ride and if I could do it again I would. It is sad to see it go but there will be something fun in the future from out team.

Below is the steps to install Siri on any device running iOS 6 or above.

First Install a GUI:

Add the repo: http://cydia.bassamkassem.com

Install Ac!d Siri

Reboot

Step 1: Jailbreak your device: Click here for Info

Step 2: Open Cydia – Manage – Sources – Edit > Add – and type: http://wordjelly.com/repo > Tap Add Source.

Step 3: Open WordJelly source, and install ios 6 WordJelly control panel

Step 4: Once that is finished, go to Settings and scroll down until you see WordJelly Open this panel and tap Install Certificate. A Safari window with open. Tap Install Certificate, and then tap OK.

Step 5: This will bring you to the Install Profile screen. Tap Install, and then tap Install in the upper right-hand corner. You should see “Trusted” in green letters on the Profile Installed page. Tap Done and close Safari.

Step 6: Reboot

Again I am sad to see i4Siri go but we could not help it. If you would like to see anything from us in the future we would love to hear your thoughts. We can still create plugins and other resources for people. If you would like any sources of code we can also provide that as well.

Since AssistantConnect hasn’t been updated for 5.1.1, we, here at i4Siri, decided to update it and have modified the package to work on 5.1.1. We decided to modify it for 5.1.1 to allow anyone to use their 4S keys on older devices.

Note: *iPhone 4S is Necessary for this.

I’ve used the iPhone 4 as an example of a older device this is compatible with. Just keep in mind that this works with any 5.x compatible device. (3Gs, iPods, Etc.) All steps for the unsupported devices are the same.

To get started, you’re going to need to add these two repos to your cydia on your iPhone 4:

http://i4Siri.com/repo

http://cydia.bassamkassem.com

As for the 4S, you won’t need to add anything since AssistantConnect4S is compatible on 5.1.1 and you do not need a spire client.

On the 4S:

To make sure your keys are current, start Siri and say something to her. Then go ahead and install AssistantConnect4S on your iPhone 4S device followed by a reboot.

iPhone 4:

Install AssistantConnect from the i4Siri repo (it must be from i4Siri) and also install the Ac!d spire client. After both are done installing, reboot the phone.

On the iPhone 4, enable Siri in Settings>General>Siri. You don’t need to worry about any of the Spire fields. Head on over to the 4S and open the AssistantConnect application, proceed to tap the email button and send the email to the iPhone 4 device. Once the email is sent and received, Open the attachment on the iPhone 4, wait for the success message, then go ahead and try Siri. If all went well, you’ll have Siri on your older device… Again.

Recently some news has surfaced that Apple has started filing DMCA complaints to websites and their host providers requesting that their Siri Proxy services and websites be taken down within

Recently some news has surfaced that Apple has started filing DMCA complaints to websites and their host providers requesting that their Siri Proxy services and websites be taken down within 12 hours. There have been a handful of proxies that have received these complaints and have been forced to shutdown.

I would like to stress the difference between a “proxy” based siri server and a “google” based server. We use a google based server and this uses Google Speech API to translate the audio captured by Siri to words then our server sends a response or action back to the device. A proxy acts as a tunnel to apple and uses apple for speech recognition and processing of the command.

Google Speech API based Siri Servers should be fine. It is hard to tell though what Apple can and can not do.

Apple sent this email out, this is only part of the email for privacy reasons.

We represent Apple Inc. (CASE ID). It has come to our attention that a website hosted by Host.com, (Website), IP: (YOUR SERVER IP) , is facilitating the distribution of “Siri Proxy’s” to its customers. The service sold by Apple on its device iPhone 4S. The “Proxy’s” are unauthorized reproductions of copyrighted material distributed by Apple, and has been published without the permission of Apple. Apple protects the applications sold on its website with digital rights management technology that effectively controls access to and copying of the applications. The publishers of this “Siri Proxy’s” have (CODE ID); that protection in violation of the anti-circumvention measures of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. 1201(a)(1)(A). Apple therefore requests that you take steps to immediately disable this website. Please notify me by reply e-mail once you have done so, and feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely

The email below is from a Siri Proxy’s host provider:

Dear Valued Customer,

You are receiving this e-mail because (YOUR HOST) has received a complaint on the specified IP address in the subject of this e-mail.

You are hereby requested to address this complaint within: 12 HOURS
Action being taken immediately by (YOUR HOST): NA
Additional notes:

Addressing this complaint includes pin-pointing the cause, and disabling the abusive behavior, or either declining this report with supportive reasoning.

The abuse complaint is to follow after this e-mail.

Regards,

Siri Proxies look to be meeting their end but will Apple take action against Google based Siri servers?

Since our launch of our new servers many users have experienced issues connecting. From our end we can see that a lot of this is due to user error and not completely following directions. One of the most common errors is that users do not use our Cydia package which was developed to prevent these issues. The proper Spire URL is: https://i4siri.chickenkiller.com

Note the proper case, https://, and the removal of :4443. All three of these are very important and can cause server issues.

Secondly, make sure all older certificates are removed. The new servers REQUIRE a new certificate. Delete the old SiriServer CA. You can use the Cydia package to install the certificate. The new certificate should be named i4SiriServer CA and NOTHING else.

You must closely follow these directions, failure to do so will result in failure to connect to the servers properly. Please be sure to share this page and post below if you experience any issues.

We went down today June 22, 2012 for a few hours to do some mandatory maintenance. We reconfigured our load balancer to efficiently distribute the load through servers. We also fixed an issue with wolframalpha requests and weather requests. We do have an updated URL and certificate for everyone. Please follow the instructions below:

If i4Siri package is already installed:

Open Cydia.

Open changes. Upgrade i4Siri.

Open settings, then i4Siri settings, Click install certificate.

If i4Siri Package is not installed:

Open Cydia.

Go to Manage, Sources, Edit, Add, Type the following URL: http://i4siri.com/repo

Install i4Siri.

Open settings, then i4Siri settings, Click install certificate.

Please let us know of any issues. If you enjoy using i4Siri on a daily basis please consider donating. Server and API keys cost a lot.

Thank you for reading,
