Common issues with new servers!

Since our launch of our new servers many users have experienced issues connecting. From our end we can see that a lot of this is due to user error and not completely following directions. One of the most common errors is that users do not use our Cydia package which was developed to prevent these issues. The proper Spire URL is: https://i4siri.chickenkiller.com

Note the proper case, https://, and the removal of :4443. All three of these are very important and can cause server issues.

Secondly, make sure all older certificates are removed. The new servers REQUIRE a new certificate. Delete the old SiriServer CA. You can use the Cydia package to install the certificate. The new certificate should be named i4SiriServer CA and NOTHING else.

You must closely follow these directions, failure to do so will result in failure to connect to the servers properly. Please be sure to share this page and post below if you experience any issues.

same here. it was working great the past few days but this morning it’s really slow and sometimes it says sorry can’t answer blah, blah…… i updated the siriport original and reinstalled the certificate. it worked but kind of slow. so i guess it’s the server. keep trying.

  11. Sam says:

Same here, it worked for a day after reinstalled. Then today didn’t work, Siri loading forever…and never response. Its that just me or anyone have same problem?

  12. Alex says:

I only got it to work the day you guys released i4siri. I’ve been having this problem for months

  13. iPhone4 user says:

I’ve been trying and trying for months… Following directions to the letter each time on two different iPhone 4′s and get same “I’m really sorry…”
The only time I got i4Siri to run was when i was on IOS 5.1 briefly for a day. Then when it quit I updated to 5.1.1 and of course the fix was not out yet. Haven’t had it work since.
Everytime there is a fix or new release, I download and install, deleting the old cert and rebooting before downloading and installing the new.
IDK. Bout to give up. :-( A month is a long time to try daily.

  17. Soknine says:

First day I install it work but after that not work, stuck on loading forever n no respond.

  18. [...] So we have organized a category on i4Siri Forum to allow users to submit connection issues with i4Siri Servers. We hope to be able to squash any outstanding issues to this day. Before posting be sure to have read the article posted here about common issues when connecting. http://i4siri.com/common-issues-with-new-servers/ [...]

  19. PissedOffUser says:

Well…it seems we have progressed a tiny step.
Siri is finally working. I guess that downloading uSirity and DeleteAssistant + waiting 24 hours to connect did the trick.

The main issue right now is the clear disadvantage of i4siri with understanding commands. any suggestions?

  20. jpisare says:

I finally got it working for me, here’s what I did (after uninstalling all Siri-related packages except repos):

Cydia > add SiriPort repo: repo.siriport.ru/
    > add i4Siri repo: i4siri.com/repo/

    Reboot (probably unnecessary but whatever)

Cydia > Install SiriPort (Original) from SiriPort repo
    Reboot

Settings > SiriPort > install cert
    Reboot

    Cydia > install i4Siri Non-Spire from i4Siri repo
    Reboot

    Settings > i4Siri > install cert
    Reboot

Launched Siri and said “Hi”. Worked fist try. Now I don’t know if I got lucky or what, but we’ll see if it continues to work going forward. Hopefully this will help you guys.

    • PissedOffUser says:

Does is understand all your commands?

      • jpisare says:

So far I’ve only said “Hi” in which it/she acknowledged me and “What’s the weather like today?” in which it/she pulled up the weather forecast. Haven’t tried much else as of yet.

        • jpisare says:

Ok, tried “Where can I get pizza around here?” (Chicago btw, so lol at the thousand hits) and it worked. Also asked “Who won the first Super Bowl?” and the winner/score/etc was returned.

    • anthony says:

worked for me! but it always says ” i can search the web for that” i just want the answer..why is that? i can search the web myself.

  21. Balzack says:

Turns out that the Language “English (UK)” doesnt work but when I changed it to American English it works!

Tried Hi and responded, Asked for time and it told me… Asked how it was and it answered!

  22. Dom says:

Wow, anyone having issues with the server not working? the default server? I am. I installed it yesterday, and all was working well but this morning, when I said “hey siri,” or tried to dictate a message, for the dictation, it just said, “thinking…thinking… and then when I tried to ask it what time it was, it just said something like it couldn’t answer that question right now or something. I’ve followed all steps, and still, same result.
